2022 Women Composer Festival of Hartford

We will now be accepting applications through October 8th, 2021.

Our 2022 Ensemble-in-Residence will be the Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra, and our 2022 Composer-in-Residence will be Hanna Kim.
For the Call for Scores, HICO’s available instrumentation will be wind quintet and piano (flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, bassoon, and piano), and scores using at least three of those instruments (eg. oboe, bassoon, and piano) will be considered.
For the Emerging Composers Workshop, led by Dr. Jessica Rudman, participants will compose a short piece for wind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon) to be read and recorded by HICO for participants’ personal (i.e. non-commercial) use.

Applications for all Calls for Participation are due on October 8th, 2021 at 11:59pm ET, and decisions will be sent via email by December 15th, 2021 (except for Emerging Composers Workshop decisions, which will be sent in October).

Applications for Composer-in-Residence and Ensemble-in-Residence are accepted year-round but must be received by January 1st to be considered for the following year.
