The Women Composers Festival of Hartford ushers in its largest concert with the help of NYC- based chamber orchestra, the Curiosity Cabinet Ensemble. The Chamber Orchestra Concert also features The Connecticut Trio – in residence at Connecticut State University – opening the concert with View from Mt. Nebo by festival guest composer Dr. Judith Shatin. The remainder of the evening is devoted to 20th/21st century chamber orchestral works written by a variety of women composers, including Dr. Karen Power – winner of the 2012 Women Composers Festival Composition Competition. Both Dr. Shatin and Dr. Power will be present to discuss their music.
The Chamber Orchestra Concert takes place Friday, March 9, 7:00PM, at the Central Connecticut State University’s Founders Hall. Admission is FREE.
