Where Are Bollywood’s Women Composers?

Radioandmusic.com asks Bollywood artists: why does Bollywood not have female music composers or lyricists?

What are the reasons? Lack of emphasis on women’s education? Shortage of female composer role models? Intimidation from being the only woman working with a group of men?

Is it hard to break the tradition of a male-dominated field?

Either way, the industry seems to be in the midst of change. Women like Saraswati Devi, Usha Khanna, Sneha Khanwalkar, Kausar Munir and Shraddha Pandi are paving the way.
